Who We Are

CERT Training by Ventura County Fire Department!

Being prepared before an emergency makes a difference in feeling confident and ready to handle the situation.  Within the past ten years, Ventura County residents have experienced wildfires, floods, mudslides, earthquakes and more.

Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) program teaches us about disasters in Ventura County and how to safely prepare and respond. Residents can prepare themselves, their homes and families before an emergency occurs.

After CERT training, meetings and other opportunities will be announced if you are interested to participate.

Ventura County residents, age 18 and up, are welcome to attend.  The In-Person Skills class involves some physical activities such as walking and holding a fire extinguisher.  Each person may participate and practice skills at their own level of safety and comfort.

For questions about younger participants, please contact Captain Lazenby, Steven.Lazenby@ventura.org.
