Who We Are

The Ventura County Fire Department (VCFD) covers all County cities that do not have their own City Fire Departments.  There are 33 VCFD Fire Stations from Ojai and Oak View to Simi Valley and Thousand Oaks.

VCFD Community Education delivers fire prevention, education and safety programs for children, adults and seniors. VCFD Volunteers go out in to the community and work to make this possible. Making a difference one volunteer, one program, and one action at a time.

What We Do

VCFD Volunteers have many opportunities to support and assist VCFD functions and events.

VCFD Volunteers attend local fairs and events to promote fire safety; provide information to Fire Stations for kids' tours; provide volunteer "victims" for drills; install smoke alarms and provide fire safety education within communities, can become a Car Passenger Seat Technicians, in order to teach proper car seat installations to parents and care givers, offer station security during public events, make deliveries to local fire stations, and assist with the annual Spark of Love toy drive.

All volunteers must be 18 or over, go through an application process, including a background check and Volunteer Orientation.

Once approved as a volunteer, you will have the availability to sign up for all volunteer opportunities.
